The August 2026 cleanup exercise was organized with the primary objective of improving environmental sanitation and public health within the Municipality. In view of the ongoing rainy season, special attention was given to the desilting of drains and clearing of choked gutters. this was aimed at mitigating the risk of flooding and reducing the incidence water-borne disease such as cholera and malaria. the exercise also focused on the evacuation of refuse heaps and the cleaning of major public spaces including market, lorry parks, streets and institutional facilities to ensure a cleaner and hygienic environment.
