The Wa Municipal Assembly under the leadership of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Honorable Alhaji Issah Nura Danwaana, organized the Mayor’s Major clean up exercise “ Operation Clean Your Frontage” This in collaboration with Honorable Assembly Members, Zoomlion Ghana Limited, Government institutions and agencies and support from communities, Individuals, organizations, and others made this a successful clean -up exercise in the Wa Municipality on July 12th,2025. The exercise covered all 21 electoral areas within Wa urban in the Municipality and aimed to promote culture of cleanliness, community participation in keeping our Surrounding clean and healthy as a Cooperate responsibility contributing to National development and Environmental sustainability. The MCE in his address highlighted on the theme for the exercise “The Mayor’s Major clean up Exercise (Operation Clean Your Frontage) and said it is a reflection of our readiness as a Municipality to the viable initiative by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana for bringing back the National Sanitation Day. A clean environment is essential for healthy living, and through this exercise, we reaffirm our commitment to making our communities cleaner, healthier, and more habitable. He assured participants that this exercise will be a monthly ritual and will be observed 1st Saturday of the month, panel of judges will evaluate the cleanliness of each electoral area, and the cleanest area will be awarded a prize and the spirit of renewing what was achieved years ago as Wa the cleanest city and to develop the habit of keeping our surroundings clean, taking responsibility for their communities, and actively contributing to national development.
He extended his heartfelt gratitude to all participating in the clean-up and applaud them for their dedication and spirit of patriotism for the progress that Ghana needs.
